SMM Apostrophes
For the sake of simplicity, use s' for words ending in ‘s’. Chris' dog.

Correct: The Super Eagles's goalkeeper ... Incorrect: The Super Eagles' goalkeeper.
Some official names omit apostrophes (the Peoples Democratic Party), others do not (the Oodua People's Congress). Always follow the official name in the way it as used on their website.
Use with abbreviations as with the full name: the APC's presidential candidate, PVCs' non-distribution.
Note: 'the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s candidate' not 'the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) candidate'.
Note: The Peoples Democratic Party and All Progressives Congress are spelled without apostrophes because these are their official names.
Correct: Peoples Democratic Party
Incorrect: People's Democratic Party
