Digital Talks / Business online events

Digital Talks is a monthly online event for business audiences, aimed at creating a business community around Legit.ng brand and, potentially, attracting advertisers.

People involved in the project:

HQ:

Kseniia Kit, Head of PR&SMM - kseniia.kit@gen.tech, +380660235081

Viktoriia Vlasenko, Content strategist - viktoriia.vlasenko@gen.tech, +380681010909

Local team:

Pascal Oparada, Journalist - pascal.oparada@corp.legit.ng

PR manager

Video team:

Temitope Popoola, Admin video team lead - temitope.popoola@corp.naij.com

Monday Idara, cameraman - idaguymonday@gmail.com

Preparation and promo:

  1. Journalist invites a business person with a huge media following (or very popular business). He agrees on a date and time (firstly, the PR manager asks if the video team is available on that day), requests for a short bio and photo for promo materials.
Remember, we should have at least 14 days gap between the agreement and an interview for marketing staff.

  2. PR manager creates Facebook event and asks Kseniia, to get a landing page for registration. She boosts Facebook post to reach a wider audience. PR manager writes an announcement about the upcoming event, publishes it on main and corp websites.

  3. Kseniia creates a welcome letter on MailChimp to automatically send reminders to the audience.

  4. PR manager reaches the guest, sends him a promo post with a link to share on his social media pages. Use http://bit.ly to track how many people clicked the link.

  5. PR manager writes and schedules posts on the Facebook event page.

  6. PR manager sends the announcement (press release) to local business news websites. Journalist helps with contacts.

  7. Journalist creates a list of questions for the guest. Shares with video team, approves with HQ.

  8. PR manager reminds the guest about the event 2 days before. Gets his/her phone number in case of emergency. Asks to arrive at the office 20 min before the interview.

  9. Kseniia sends a reminder email to the Digital Talks audience before the event.

Event day:

  1. In the morning PR manager sends a short reminder to the guest.

  2. Everyone from the team arrives earlier (at least 40 min before the event).

  3. PR manager meets the guest.

  4. Video team checks the equipment and location. Make sure we don’t have broken chairs, etc.

  5. Event duration: approx 45 minutes.

  6. Event place: Nigeria: 8 Adeleke, Ladipo Kuku Street, Allen Avenue, Ikeja

Important notes:

Logo on the screen: use a logo from this folder. Use an image inviting people to subscribe to the newsletter when possible.

In case the guest is requesting an online interview, we ensure he/she has a stable internet connection, earphones, one more additional device to connect (laptop, phone) and stays in a quiet place.

Online interviews are streamed via Zoom/Skype + OBS manager. Guide.

Bright is responsible for moderation. Co-hosts should be present in the office to ensure a stable Internet connection.

It is always better to have a live interview in the office rather than an online one. Insist on in-house interviews for better results (video quality, audience engagement, live interaction).

After the event:

  1. Right after the interview, PR manager sends a letter of appreciation to the guest. Asks him to join the community and spread the word with friends and followers.

  2. Journalist writes 2 articles: one with main outtakes, one with special insight from the event.

  3. PR manager adapts one of the articles into a press release. PR manager sends it to local business news websites.

Viktoria adapts the main tips for a newsletter. Kseniia sends the newsletter to the audience.
