General rules for days off inside Esc Media.
Platforms do not sleep, they don’t have weekends, and since our business depend on high performance of our content, it is important to organise your team in such a way that is efficient, while each member has a proper chance to rest.
General info
Each member of our teams has:
20 working days off a year.
Unlimited amount of sick leaves.
We use commutative system for calculating days off: each consecutive month adds 1.7 days to the employee’s vacation.
If the person is registered within Zoho people, their schedule is calculated automatically.
For our remote workers we use the Leave Tracker.
General rules
1. An employee should inform the Team Lead beforehand their planned leave.
For situational days off that are 1-2 days long, the absence warning time is minimum 1 day prior the leave.
For longer vacations that are more than 5 working days, the absence warning time is minimum 3 weeks prior the leave.
2. We have small teams that work in fast pace, thus we can ensure quick profitability of our startup projects.
It is therefore advised to give your employees vacation of no longer than one consecutive week. It is better that your team members take a few weeks off, scattered throughout the year, rather than one long vacation.
3. Unused vacation days do not burn and they will be counted in the employee’s leave package.
Zoho People
Go to Zoho People Leave Tracker. Filter after ‘Direct Reportees’ Data' to see applications for leave requests from you team.

Enter the employee’s start date in column B, formula in column C should be set to “TODAY ()”.
Column D will calculate how many days off the employee has in total. To do that automatically, the formula should be: “=(Crownumber-Brownumber)/30*1.7”.
In column E you should write how many days have been used to this date.
Formula in column F will calculate how many unused days off the employee has. Formula: "=(Drownumber-Erownumber).
Keep track on the exact dates and reasons for leave in the sheets for the respective project.
